The Oak Leaf design is believed to be an off shoot of the blurred edge design. This is Type A oak leaf pattern( type B is a rougher version of A) . It was produced from 1941-45 and used for a variety of clothing. Oakleaf (Eichenlaub) camo Waffen SS Oakleaf Zeltbahn camouflage was introduced first introduced in 1940 as an underprint for blurred edge camp design. This proto print used three colours. By late 1941 it became its own print was was produced in five colours. Was issued for widespread use as smocks, winter parkas, zeltbahns, and helmet covers. It was made from strong cotton duck fabric and in some cases herringbone twill. It was fully reversible from Spring to autumn.
